And so it was, $1,756.95 later, I drove home in my newly quiet car, came inside, logged back in, made myself a cup of tea, and discovered this. Have you ever been so excited that you couldn't even scream? I mean yes, I opened my mouth but the exclamation that came out was more of a gaspy exhale with the facial expressions of a scream. I am so excited I can't even come up with words to say how excited I am.

I had to share it somewhere. My mother isn't answering her phone and the cat's asleep, so you're it!

And I have a nefarious plan to get a copy the minute it exists. It involves nagging my poor sales rep until she caves, after which she will change her email address, phone number, and maybe even her name just to avoid me. :P

We are all tremendously excited and happy for you!

It looks like we saw it before you did. I posted this after I saw it at 3 a.m. on Wednesday:

Congratulations!!!

Hey thanks you guys! We need a mole at the printer who can pilfer a box of these books when they're done and express mail them to us while the others enjoy their painstakingly slow journey across the Pacific. Anyone speak fluent Chinese?

Your book will soon be in our hot little paws, I mean our knitting-wise, terrific hands.
It's a beautiful thing, honey bun.

Congratulations Clara! What a concept--someone who knows all there is to know about yarn publishing a book to share with fiber lovers everywhere! Can't wait to get my pre-ordered copy!

Hi Mary, Bess, Martha, and Fredda! Your posts made me smile. Especially when I envisioned giving birth to a 250-page book (ouch) or actually knowing *everything* there is to know about yarn. The biggest thing I've learned from this project is that the journey keeps going and going and going. A book #2 perhaps? ;-)

Clara, that's *way* cool. Just the title of the book is intriguing to me. What a sorely needed book it is! I have a similar book for fabrics which is indispensable to me in my sewing. I know yours will be indispensable to my knitting. Congratulations!!

Congratulations Clara!

I'm so excited, both for you and to get my hands on a copy! I've already told DH that he will be ordering one directly from you for my Christmas present this year! Okay, so really I order it, but he'll pay . . .

When do you start on book 2?

Wow, I know I'm behind the times on this fabulous piece of news, but that doesn't make my congratulations any less heartfelt!

What a wonderful thing to see....our own Clara Parkes, in addition to her many other talents, now listed as 'author'....way to go, girfriend!
